Dear Colleagues,
In conjunction with the 2006 BioBusiness Asia Conference
and the 2006 BioTaiwan International Exhibition, the 5th APEC
Biotechnology Conference will be held in the Grand Hyatt Taipei
on July 24, 2006. I sincerely invite you to join us and discuss
the wide variety of issues focusing on the biotechnology field.
In a move to further nurture this innovative industry, the
theme of this year¡¦s conference mainly involves ¡§Building
a Biotech Collaborative Network in the APEC Region.¡¨ Thus,
the topics to be covered will not be limited to technology
development, but will widely range from business policies
to technology improvements. A comprehensive series of presentations
and discussions have been planned to enable the participants
to discover potential win-win opportunities in the biotechnology
market, building a biotech value chain for the member economies
across the region.
This conference is expected to attract more than 200 participants
from the Asia Pacific Region and will serve as a beacon for
multi-disciplinary and cross-industrial collaboration with
the aim of advancing the biotechnology industry and spark
more creative ideas. Specifically, the participants are encouraged
to share the related experience or practice to increase the
efficiency in the handling of the biotech matters or to minimize
inadequate operations.
The conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy
(MOEA), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI),
and the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization. You are cordially
