The biotechnology industry is one of the most innovative sectors
in Chinese Taipei. Many foresee biotechnology as the leading
industry of the new century. Its potentially huge market readily
attracts attention from various investment sectors. The purpose
of this conference is to provide a forum for sharing information
and experience among government officers, entrepreneurs, and
research scientists involved in policy making and technology
R&D in the field of biotechnology.

At the 4th APEC- Biotechnology Conference
held last September, more than 200 participants from ten member
economies took part in the conference. There were excellent
speakers from 7 member economies to share their experience on
the development of biotechnology industry.
This year, the APEC-Biotechnology
Conference will be held in conjunction with BioTaiwan 2006,
one of the largest annual biotechnology events in the region.
Activities will include concurrent trade exhibition, workshops,
business forums, scientific conferences, etc. We expect to gain
active involvement across government, academia, and industry
both at home and abroad.
