Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I sincerely invite you to participate in the 5th BioBusiness Asia (BBA) Conference to be held in Taipei, Taiwan from July 25th to July 26th, 2006 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Together we will explore both the vision and opportunities for promoting the biotech industry and identifying collaborative strategies across Asia.

In an achievement that was highly appreciated, the 2005 BBA was successful in gathering more than 250 attendees from 14 countries. The conference also attracted an extensive list of international sponsors from a wide variety of sectors, including MDS Capital Corp., BioAsia Investments, Biotechnology Industry Organization, MPM Capital, and Burrill & Company. Several of the participating corporations, organizations, or institutes, such as University of California, San Diego, CSIRO, Boston Life Science Venture Corp., and Biogen Idec were also highly supportive. In addition, 14 emerging biotech companies in the Asia Pacific region were selected to present their business models, strategies, or technologies in the area of therapeutics, genomics, pharmaceuticals, proteomics, and medical devices, etc.

This yearˇ¦s conference will comprehensively embrace several topics in regard to global trends, business models, and investment opportunities by encouraging numerous biotech-related sectors to become involved. In addition, some recommended companies will be invited to introduce their accomplishments as well as presenting their insightful perspectives into the works. At the 2006 BioBusiness Asia Conference, a platform will be provided for the creative minds from a wide range of sectors to share and learn from each other, enabling the different technologies to be linked and further developed based on theoretical ideas generated. The conference is intended to leverage the available resources in order to facilitate the development of the biotech industry, making it more forward-looking and profitable.

I cordially invite you to join us in ensuring the 5th BBA Conference is both productive and meaningful. Your support and participation will be the sole drive to make the conference successful. I am looking forward to meeting with you in Taipei in July 2006.

Sincerely,

Johnsee Lee, Ph.D.
